Austrade and delivery partner Practera are proud to welcome their third cohort of Study Australia Industry Experience Program (SAIEP) student participants.
From 2 February 2022, 380 students from 17 tertiary education institutions across six jurisdictions (excluding ACT and Queensland) will take part in the two-week virtual industry experience program.
Students will be divided into 86 teams of 5–6 students, with each team working with a real-world industry client. Student teams represent a wide range of study disciplines, and comprise offshore and onshore, as well as and domestic and international students.
First launched in July 2021, as a Study Australia Partnership initiative with all state and territory study destination agencies, SAIEP is a year-long, four-phase program. Delivered by Practera and involving education providers across Australia, SAIEP is carefully designed to: facilitate peer-to-peer and cross-border student networks; build global and multi-disciplinary student perspectives; and enhance student employability.
To date, the program has engaged 1,016 international and domestic students enrolled across 27 Australian education and training providers in six states and territories. The program offers students the opportunity to demonstrate and grow their knowledge and skills by completing authentic industry projects. The program continues to grow with each cohort. The SAIEP now involves more than 100 Australian and global employers and has trebled in size across provider, student and industry participation.
