Suburban Rail Loop preliminary investigation works

Preliminary geotechnical works are happening at Bogong Avenue car park (Glen Waverley) for the early planning and design for the Suburban Rail Loop.

The Glen Waverley Activity Centre is earmarked for a Suburban Rail Loop station. The SRL will eventually connect every metropolitan train line from Cheltenham to Werribee. Stage one is Cheltenham to Box Hill, which also includes stations at Clayton (superhub) and Monash University (Clayton).

The Suburban Rail Loop Authority’s geotechnical program involves drilling in areas near the proposed alignment for the south east section of Suburban Rail Loop to gain initial data and information about local ground conditions.

These works at Bogong Avenue car park start on Tuesday 9 June and require temporary occupation of up to eight car parking spaces on the ground floor for drilling works and support vehicles.

Pedestrian and road access will be maintained at all times and traffic controllers and signage will be in place to guide people around the work site.

There will be periods of medium level noise from the digging.

The works are from 7am to 5pm (Monday to Friday) and 7am to 1pm (Saturdays) and will take approximately two weeks.
