Round 3 of the DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream is now open.
The rebate program has already helped more than 400 car dealerships and EV repair businesses buy and install smart fixed EV chargers or portable DC EV chargers through Rounds 1 and 2.
Following industry feedback, Round 3 now covers more of the costs involved in transitioning to EV servicing and repairs. In addition to chargers, funding is now available for a wider range of EV workshop equipment and infrastructure, including:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- high-voltage toolkits
- battery diagnostics equipment
- and more.
Round 3 also increased the site cap up to $50,000.
This expanded support will help workshops become EV-ready. It recognises that preparing workshops for EV servicing and repair involves a range of investments beyond charger installation.
The rebate stream will continue to provide:
- EV charging rebates of up to $3,000 per plug, capped at $21,000 (within the site cap)
- up to $250 to cover third-party fees for application assistance.
Automotive dealerships and EV repairers are encouraged to check their eligibility before applying.
The rebate stream sits under the Dealership and Repairer Initiative for Vehicle Electrification Nationally (DRIVEN) Program. The DRIVEN Program supports the automotive sector to sell, service, and repair more EVs.
As Australians buy more EVs, the DRIVEN Program helps dealerships and EV repairers to accelerate the transition and reduce vehicle emissions.
