The Tasmanian Government is committed to expanding opportunities for Tasmanians to develop the digital skills they need for today’s online world.
A new guide to support online learning at home will be provided to families of children from kindergarten to grade 10 in Government schools from today.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the guide has been produced to help parents and carers understand more about their child’s digital learning.
“It can be hard to keep up with the technology our children are using, and this practical guide will help families learn together at home,” Minister Palmer said.
“Families are the first and most important influence and support for children and young people.
“By improving digital skills, families can have greater access to information, support and online services, so they can stay engaged and connected.
“An important part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is to support our communities and enhance our regions.”
Supporting online learning: A guide for families covers school communication platforms, such as Canvas, homework, computers and technology, school reports, privacy and being safe online.
