Surry Hills man charged over child abuse material, NSW

A Surry Hills man has been charged over alleged possession of child abuse material.

About 8.25am today (Friday 1 November 2019), officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Devonshire Street, Surry Hills.

Officers located and seized several electronic devices, including a laptop which police will allege contained child abuse material.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with one count of possession of child abuse material.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Central Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 2 November 2019).
