Swift Arrest After Preston Attempted Burglary

A man has been arrested following an alleged attempted burglary in Preston early this morning.

Officers responded to reports of a man allegedly armed with a knife and attempting to gain entry to a house, via the front door, on Burkitt Court about 1.30am.

Police swiftly arrived on scene and arrested a man nearby.

A 45-year-old Thomastown man will be interviewed by police and is expected to be charged with attempted aggravated burglary.
