Swim instructor charged over alleged sexual abuse of two young girls, NSW

A swimming instructor will face court today following an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of two young swim students on Sydney’s North Shore.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports two girls – aged six and eight – had been sexually touched on separate occasions during swimming lessons at a Mosman pool last month.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 20-year-old man at a home at Balgowlah just before midday yesterday (Tuesday 12 March 2019).

The man was taken to Manly Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years, and sexual intercourse with child under the age of 10 years.

He has been refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court later today (Wednesday 13 March 2019).

The man’s employment with the swim school was previously suspended.

Investigations are continuing.
