It’s time for Western Australia’s brightest training stars to take the leap!
Applications are now open for the 2024 WA Training Awards, which are this year celebrating 30 years of recognising excellence in vocational education and training.
In this milestone year, apprentices, trainees, vocational students, trainers, employers, and training organisations are being called upon to share their achievements through these prestigious awards.
As well as being recognised as the best in the State, individual award winners receive a $3,000 cash prize to further their training or kick-start their career.
Organisation award winners will be recognised as industry leaders, and will be promoted and celebrated through a variety of media and marketing opportunities.
Winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony in September and may go on to represent WA at the Australian Training Awards in Darwin in November.
Last year, WA triumphed at the peak national awards, with WA Apprentice of the Year Amy Hunt, and WA Trainer of the Year Holly Gudsell winning the national awards for their respective categories.
Western Australian organisations also took out one silver and three bronze awards across multiple categories, including EK Contracting for Small Employer of the Year and Cunderdin College of Agriculture for Small Training Provider of the Year.
Each year, the Awards partner with a range of WA businesses and training sector stakeholders – including MEGT, Training Accreditation Council, Apprenticeship Support Australia powered by CCIWA, Construction Training Fund, and Maxima – to present this exemplary program and event.
This year, there are eight individual and five organisation categories:
Individual categories:
- WA Apprentice of the Year;
- WA Trainee of the Year;
- WA Vocational Student of the Year;
- WA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year;
- WA School-based Apprentice of the Year;
- WA Trainer of the Year;
- WA Cultural Diversity Training Award; and
- WA International Student of the Year.
Organisation categories:
- WA Small Employer of the Year;
- WA Large Employer of the Year;
- WA Industry Collaboration Award;
- WA Small Training Provider of the Year; and
- WA Large Training Provider of the Year.
