Yesterday a heavy tip truck and trailer were involved in a crash on the Tasman Highway, approximately 5km south of Pyengana. Due to the weather conditions, it was not safe to recover the truck and trailer at that time.
Tomorrow at 7.30am an operation will commence to recover the truck and trailer. The operation is a complex one requiring the use of a heavy lift crane and will cause traffic delays in the area for several hours.
A traffic management plan has been developed to minimise the impact on traffic flow, but members of the community are encouraged to delay travel through the area until after the operation has been completed.
Where travel is necessary, drivers are asked to drive to the conditions and follow all traffic control directions, including reduced speed limits.
