Tasmanian artists to inspire next generation

Elise Archer,Minister for the Arts

Four Tasmanian artists will share their talents with secondary students across the State thanks to the latest round of the Hodgman Liberal Government’s Education Residencies program.

Funding of $40,000 will allow the artists to take up residencies at Hobart College, Launceston Grammar, Rosny College and Don College between February and July next year.

Our Government is a strong supporter of the arts in Tasmania and programs such as this will help the industry continue to grow across the State.

Eloise Kirk (visual arts), Susan Simonini (ceramics), Luke Campbell (physical theatre) and Sofie Burgoyne (dance) will work with Year 11 and 12 students to inspire and encourage them in their artistic pursuits.

The artists will also collaborate with teachers to bring new creative ideas and approaches to their lessons.
