Tattoo business destroyed by fire at Newtown, NSW

Inquiries are underway into the cause of a fire which has destroyed a tattoo business in Newtown this morning.

Emergency services were called to King Street about 2.30am (Saturday 20 July 2019), after flames were seen coming from the front of the business.

The fire was extinguished a short time later but the premises had sustained extensive damage.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command established a crime scene and have seized a number of items for forensic examination.

Initial inquiries indicate the fire has been deliberately lit.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident – or any drivers with a dashcam who passed through the area about the time the fire broke out – to contact Newtown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
