TCC launches exhibitions calendar

Take a comprehensive look at the captivating exhibitions coming to Council’s Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and Pinnacles Gallery for the rest of the year with the new exhibitions calendar.

The calendar includes details of 12 current and upcoming exhibitions across the two art galleries as well as how to join the Friends of the Gallery and information on the upcoming Percivals 2024.

Community and Cultural Development Committee chairperson Ann-Maree Greaney said Council was proud to run these two world-class art galleries for locals and visitors to experience for free all year round.

“Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and Pinnacles Gallery proudly exhibit remarkable regional, national and international art of the highest calibre. We currently have Lost in Palm Springs and Chasing Light: Architecture of the North by Andrew Rankin exhibiting at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery and Embolden: The Courage To Be and Wearable Art Creatives on show at Pinnacles Gallery,” Cr Greaney said.

“This mix of media and origin of each piece shows just how diverse our galleries are, with Council committed to continuing to provide opportunities for the growth of local artists.

“We have a huge selection of works coming up for both these galleries during the rest of the year, so I highly recommend residents and visitors to the city head to these two free gallery spaces to enjoy the art and the gallery experience.

“This is just one of the many culture and lifestyle experiences that Townsville residents highly rate, as seen in Council’s recent Community Sentiment Survey where 86 per cent of residents threw their support behind Council’s goal of growing Townsville into a city where there’s a lot for people to do recreationally.”

Perc Tucker Regional Gallery is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday, and from 10am to 1pm Saturday and Sunday. Pinnacles Gallery is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm on Saturday and from 9am to 1pm on Sunday. Entry to both galleries is free.
