Brimbank Divisional Response Unit have charged a 15-year-old girl after a teenager was stabbed during an affray in Deer Park last night.
Officers were first called to the scene following reports of a brawl and possible stabbing involving a group of youths at Robert Bruce Reserve on Gould Street about 7.15pm.
When police arrived, they found several witnesses and an injured 18-year-old young woman with suspected stab wounds.
The teen was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It’s alleged a brawl broke out which spread out from the reserve onto Gould and Newbury streets and Neal Road.
Officers are also investigating reports another female was assaulted, who didn’t require medical assistance.
Police arrested a teenager in the Melton area this morning and have charged her with affray.
She has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Further arrests are expected, and the investigation remains ongoing.
