Teen charged over road rage incident – Kings Cross PAC

A teenager will face court today charged with attempted murder following an alleged road rage incident in Sydney last month.

Just before 9am on Saturday 18 November 2023, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly involved in an altercation at a home on Dowling Street, Woolloomooloo.

Shortly after, the teen left the home and entered the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on the street, where he allegedly accelerated at two people before driving off.

Officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command responded and located the alleged stolen vehicle abandoned on Windeyer Street, Woolloomooloo.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, a 14-year-old boy was arrested in Woolloomooloo yesterday (Monday 4 December 2023).

He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with the following offences

– Attempt to murder (two counts)

– Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous,

– Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm)

– Not give particulars to other driver

– Take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner

– Intentionally choke etc person without consent

– Steal motor vehicle

He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Tuesday 5 December 2023).

Police will allege in court that the teen had assaulted a woman inside a home prior.

Police will further allege that the vehicle was stolen from a Mosman address on Tuesday 14 November 2023.
