Teen stabbed; investigation underway at North Richmond

Police are investigating a stabbing in the Hawkesbury region overnight.

Emergency services were called to a service station on Bells Line of Road at North Richmond just before 1am (1 July 2023) where they found a teen with stab wounds.

The 19-year-old was treated by ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

Police have been told the teen was stabbed after he and his friends were confronted by three males after leaving a party at a property on East Kurrajong Road, East Kurrajong.

He was punched to the head and stabbed twice in the lower back before the group fled the scene in a dark vehicle; they were last seen travelling north along East Kurrajong Road.

Friends drove the injured teen to the North Richmond service station where they met with the ambulance paramedics.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command established crime scenes which continue to be forensically examined.

An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The males have been described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, aged in their late teens to early 20s, and with heavy builds.
