Teenage boy charged after aggravated robbery at Bowraville, NSW

A teenage boy has been charged following an aggravated robbery on the state’s Mid North Coast earlier this month.

About 12pm on Wednesday 3 August 2022, police were called to High Street, Bowraville, after reports of an aggravated robbery.

On arrival, officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District were told a 72-year-old man had been allegedly assaulted by an unknown male, who kicked the man to the ground and stomped on his head before demanding cash and fleeing the scene.

About 1.20pm on Monday 15 August 2022 police were called to the same location where an unknown male was involved in an altercation in which he produced a knife. No one was injured.

Following extensive inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 16 August 2022) police arrested a 16-year-old boy in Bowraville following a short foot pursuit.

He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery, affray, resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty and custody of knife in public place.

The teenager was bail refused to appear before Kempsey Children’s Court today (Wednesday 17 August 2022).

Investigations are ongoing.
