Teenage boy charged over stabbing at Bankstown, NSW

A teenage boy has been charged over the alleged stabbing of another teenage boy in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 7pm (Monday 25 October 2021), police were notified after a 14-year-old boy presented to Bankstown Hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen.

The boy was later transferred to Randwick Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command subsequently commenced an investigation into the incident.

Officers were told the boy had been stabbed by another male at a park near the intersection of Alcoomie and Nurragi Streets, Villawood.

The injured teen was then driven to hospital for treatment.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home at Bass Hill about 11.30pm.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with reckless wounding.

The teenager was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at a children’s court on Thursday 11 November 2021.

The boys are known to each other and inquiries into the incident are continuing.
