Council will be undertaking essential geotechnical investigations as part of the Fixing Country Bridges Program on Knights Bridge, Tysons Bridge, Hopsons (Tyson 2) Bridge and Youngs (Tyson 3) Bridge. These works are part of investigations into the replacement of bridges in poor condition across the Shire, which will improve the long-term performance of the bridges and reduce any potential future load limits.
As a result, these works will necessitate the full road closure of Kalang Road at each of the bridge locations on the nominated dates below between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, weather permitting.
Tuesday 25 May 2021 – Knights Bridge, Kalang Road – 16.9 km
Wednesday 26 May 2021 – Tyson Bridge, Kalang Road – 24.3 km
Thursday 27 May 2021 – Hopsons (Tyson 2) Bridge, Kalang Road – 24.7 km
Friday 28 May 2021 – Youngs (Tyson 3) Bridge, Kalang Road – 25.3 km
Emergency services have been notified of these closures. A VMS board has been placed at the start of Kalang Road to communicate these closures further to a letter box drop issued to residents.
