Tickets on sale for summer’s tastiest festival

Nic Street, Minister for Stadia and Events

Tickets have gone on sale for Hobart’s waterfront food and beverage festival, Tasmania’s Taste of Summer, with an Aussie music legend set to rock in the new year.

Minister for Stadia and Events, Nic Street, said that the festival continues to provide local producers and suppliers from across the state with a platform to showcase their goods to not just Tasmania, but the world.

“Tasmania’s Taste of Summer is one of our most iconic events, attracting thousands of visitors to Hobart’s waterfront each summer to indulge in some of the best food and beverages our state has to offer,” Minister Street said.

“Last year, 80 Tasmanian stallholders served up their products to more than 62,000 patrons – of whom well over a third were visiting Hobart from interstate or overseas.

“With a record number of stallholder applications for this year’s Taste, attendees will be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting a favourite dish.

“We also know that the Taste of Summer is one of the best places to be to bring in the new year. We’re excited to see Aussie rock legend – Noiseworks and INXS frontman Jon Stevens – take the party into the evening.

“With tickets now on sale and likely to be snapped up quickly, it’s time to plan your summer on the Hobart waterfront.

“The Tasmanian Liberal Government recognises the value of the Taste of Summer to our food and beverage producers, to our state’s economy, and to our well-deserved reputation as an events destination.

“We are committed to supporting events that deliver value across three pillars: economic, social and brand, outlined in the Tasmanian Government’s Event Strategy 2023-27.

“That’s why, we’re proud to support the Taste of Summer to the tune of $7.7 million over five years, taking us through to 2026.”

Tasmania’s Taste of Summer opens on Wednesday, 27 December. Full details and tickets at www.tasteofsummer.com.au.
