Time to reflect – 2009 Victorian bushfires

This is an image of a yellow ribbon.

Today, we pause to acknowledge the 15-year commemoration of the devastating 2009 Victorian bushfires.

We remember the tragic loss of 173 lives, the bravery of the firefighters and community members who fought the flames, and the courage, strength and resilience of our communities, emergency services and volunteers.

As the significance of this tragic event remains, we send our thoughts to those who were impacted and our communities who continue to navigate the long-term impacts and mental health challenges in the aftermath of this tragedy.
