Background and purpose

The Center for Innovative Medicine (CIMED) supports clinical research of the highest quality at Campus Flemingsberg. CIMED is now calling for project grants and clinical research months to support and strengthen clinical research at Campus Flemingsberg.

Clinical research refers to research that requires the structure and resources of the health care system and aims to solve a health problem or to identify factors that lead to increased ill health or research aimed at preventing ill health. Clinical research also includes new experimental research discoveries that can be translated into real patient benefits in the foreseeable future, i.e. translational research.

The research should:

be conducted with high quality

contribute to increased knowledge of life processes that open up opportunities to achieve health and alleviate and cure disease

be able to lead to practical application in health care

Who can apply?

Both researchers employed at Region Stockholm and Karolinska Institutet (KI) can apply for CIMED project grants. The main applicant must be employed at KI or Region Stockholm throughout the grant period. Research funds are only paid to departments at KI.
