Footy fans will be able to travel to and from Adelaide Oval for free this Saturday 17 April to cheer on the Adelaide Crows in their quest to win a third AFLW Premiership.
The Think! Road Safety Footy Express service will be providing free travel to and from this weekend’s AFLW Grand Final between the Crows and the Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval, which kicks off at 1:30pm.
“We know how proud South Australians are of the Crows’ AFLW side and we expect thousands to get out this Saturday to support the team in the big dance,” Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Corey Wingard said.
“The Crows have consistently broken records and proven to be the benchmark in our country and I have no doubt they’ll continue that effort this weekend.
“To encourage safe travel, The Think! Road Safety Footy Express service will be operating to get South Australians to the doorstep of Adelaide Oval safe and sound.
“Free return transport will also be ready to go at the final siren, so please don’t get behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking, there’s no excuse for putting lives at risk.
“The Marshall Liberal Government encourages fans to Think! Road Safety, leave their cars at home and travel free with us to watch history in the making.”
As previously announced, there will be full closures of the Gawler and Outer Harbor/Grange rail lines, as part of the Gawler Rail Electrification Project (GREP).
Substitute buses will operate as closely to Gawler and Outer Harbor/Grange train services as possible.
“We know the rail closures are inconvenient for commuters and we thank them for their patience during these important works.
“The GREP project has been a long time coming and the Marshall Liberal Government is proud to finally be delivering it for the people of the north.”
Cleaning schedules have been increased across all public transport modes and extra cleaning crews are being used across the network.
Passengers are encouraged to maintain social distancing wherever possible and use their best judgement and wait for the following service if they do not feel as though there is adequate space or if instructed to do so.
Passengers are also reminded not to travel on public transport if they are feeling unwell.
