The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is proud to have supported the production of Debi Marshall Investigates: Frozen Lies, a fascinating new true crime documentary series.
Across five explosive episodes, Debi Marshall, a Walkley award-winning investigative journalist, explores the 1979 murder of Adelaide lawyer Derrance Stevenson. The series premieres on Foxtel on Tuesday, 24 September.
The series was filmed in and around Hobart as well as parts of regional Tasmania. The Government, through Screen Tasmania, invested $115,000 in the development and production of the five-part series which has resulted in expenditure of nearly $640,000 in Tasmania helping to create and sustain local jobs.
True stories are crucial to understanding our culture, history, environment and people, and it’s exciting to see documentaries and factual projects undergoing a new renaissance in Tasmania.
Debi Marshall Investigates joins a long list of recent factual projects funded by the Hodgman majority Liberal Government including Aussie Lobster Men, children’s documentary series Project Planet and three wonderful short documentaries Flavour Swap, Sidelines and Small Town Drifter, which are currently streaming on SBS On Demand.
An accompanying podcast further reveals Debi’s investigative prowess and highlights additional material to the series as she attempts to bring justice to victims.
