Two arrested in Armadale after car speeds off from police

Police have arrested two men following an extended follow through the southern suburbs of Melbourne.

Officers spotted a Toyota Kluger travelling on Blackburn Road, Blackburn, with suspected cloned plates, on Monday 2 October about 1.50pm.

Police attempted to intercept the car, but it took off travelling at a fast rate of speed.

With Air Wing assisting, officers followed the vehicle through Caulfield and Malvern before stop sticks were successfully deployed on William Street, Armadale, where the vehicle came to a stop.

The passenger of the vehicle, a 41-year-old man, fled the vehicle on foot towards Dandenong Road.

He was arrested nearby.

The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Frankston man, was arrested at the scene.

The pair are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
