Two men have been charged with drink-driving, including a p-plater and a second driver who allegedly attempted to bribe police in Sydney’s south west.
About 5.30pm yesterday (Friday 15 January 2021), officers from Camden Traffic and Highway Patrol were called to the Hume Highway off-road ramp at Narellan Road, Campbelltown, after motorists had stopped a Holden Utility that was allegedly driving erratically.
Police arrived and subjected the provisional driver, a 32-year-old man, to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.151.
The Harrington Park man was charged with drive with high range PCA and is due to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 9 February 2021.
His provisional licence was suspended.
In a separate incident, officers from Liverpool City Traffic and Highway Patrol were performing stationary breath testing on the Hume Highway at Warwick Farm, when they stopped a Subaru Impreza about 8am today (Saturday 16 January 2021).
The driver, a 52-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.066.
Police will allege in court that while being transported in the police vehicle, the man produced a sum of cash from his pocket, offering it to officers.
The Bonnyrigg man was charged with give/offer bribe to member of NSW Police Force and low range PCA and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 10 March 2021.
