Two garden events are being held to mark the completion of the Eskbank House and Museum Heritage Garden Project. The events are funded by a NSW Government grant in the aftermath of the Gospers Mountain bushfire of 2019/2020.
The first of the events, will be led by Jessica Lawn, a consulting horticulturalist and arborist. Jessica will be working with volunteers and giving a demonstration of pruning techniques in the winter garden. This demonstration and working bee are open to the community on Thursday 22 June 2023 from 10.00am to 1.00pm. The second garden event is “Connect with Nature, through Native Bees”, led by Megan Halcroft (PhD), a conservationist and science communicator specialising in Australian native bees. Through her seminars and workshops, Megan shares her passion for bees and their importance in driving ecosystem biodiversity. “During this presentation, I will talk about the importance of pollinators, which native bees you might find in the Lithgow area and where they live,” said Megan.
