Two people have been taken to hospital after an incident at a nursing home in Seaton.
Just after 9.30am today (Friday 18 September), police and emergency services were called to the premises after reports that a male volunteer in his 80s assaulted a female staff member.
The woman aged in her 60s was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The man was also taken to hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries which are not life-threatening.
No residents were injured or threatened by the man.
Investigations are ongoing.
