Two men have been arrested following attempted break-ins at homes in Adelaide’s western suburbs.
Just after 1am on Saturday 26 September, police were called to a home at Tennyson after reports of an attempted break-in.
It will be alleged a suspect entered the property and stole a pair of garden shears from an unlocked garage before using them in an attempt to force entry to the home. No entry was gained and the suspect left the scene. CCTV captured a black BMW believed to be travelling in the area at the time.
A short time later, at about 1.10am, police were called to a house at Grange after a homeowner saw a man allegedly trying the front door handle. The resident also reported seeing a black BMW nearby. No entry was gained.
Western District patrols located the BMW on Glen Eira Street, Woodville South, at about 1.25am and arrested two the two occupants.
A 37-year-old man from Woodville South was charged with two counts of aiding and abetting serious criminal trespass. It will be alleged he drove the BMW during the offending. He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 10 November.
A 26-year-old man from Woodville West was charged with two counts of serious criminal trespass, being unlawfully on premises, theft and property damage. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 28 September.
