Two women and baby injured in single-vehicle crash near Forster, NSW

Two women and a five-month-old baby have been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s north today.

Just before 1.30pm (Monday 17 January 2021), emergency services were called to Wallanbah Road, Firefly – about 36km west of Forster – following reports a vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a fence and flipped.

The driver – a 27-year-old woman – and two passengers – a 46-year-old woman and five-month-old baby boy – sustained serious injuries.

All three were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.

The women remain in a serious condition, while the baby is in a critical condition.

Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
