Sydney City Police have charged two women after they allegedly assaulted a man at a bus stop in the Sydney CBD last month.
On Saturday 25 July 2026, officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command received a report that a man had been assaulted in Haymarket.
Police were told that about 3am on Saturday, two unknown women had allegedly made offensive comments towards a 29-year-old man near a bus stop at the intersection of Pitt and Barlow Street.
During this incident, the women also allegedly assaulted the man before leaving the scene on foot.
The man sustained facial injuries during the alleged assault.
Following inquiries, two women – aged 26 and 33 – were arrested at Day Street Police Station, about 2.15pm today (Saturday 1 August 2026).
They were both charged with common assault and use offensive language in/near public place/school.
Both women were granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 2 September 2026.
