: shaping the future of the 100-year life

7 October 2026, Geneva, Switzerland – The 100-year life is changing business, policy and society. From 14 to 16 October 2026, the LifeSpan Summit in Málaga will bring together institutions, businesses, researchers and innovators who can help shape how societies respond to longer lives.

UNITAR will co-host the three-day Summit, which will convene leaders from public institutions, international organizations, the private sector, academia and civil society to move the longevity agenda from discussion to practical action.

A global conversation on longer lives

The Summit will feature a high-level international line-up spanning the World Economic Forum, World Health Organization, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, International Telecommunication Union, European Commission, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, World Bank, the Government of Spain, the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative and the GCC Executive Bureau, alongside leading businesses and academic institutions.

More than 70 participating institutions will be represented, including organizations from the Global South, as well as Uber, Nestlé, G3ict, the Stanford Center on Longevity, the University of Cambridge, Ashoka and Coursera.

What the programme covers

Sessions are organized around five pillars: HealthSpan, WealthSpan, WorkSpan, CareSpan and ThriveSpan. Together, they address prevention and brain health, pensions and longevity risk, age-inclusive work, lifelong learning, care delivery, digital inclusion, accessible technology, the longevity consumer and multigenerational communities.

The programme will examine how evidence-based approaches can be scaled and transferred across markets and systems, with sessions on healthy ageing, funding longer lives, the care workforce, and human-centred digital inclusion and accessibility. The closing day will be an Action Day designed to translate discussion into a collective action agenda.

UNITAR at the Summit

As a co-host, UNITAR will bring its work on healthy ageing, lifelong learning and inclusive development into the longevity conversation, with a particular focus on turning global dialogue into practical capacity development and locally relevant implementation through the CIFAL Global Network.

The Summit provides an important platform to connect the longevity agenda with the broader transformations already reshaping health systems, skills, work, communities and public policy, and to build partnerships that can help societies prepare for longer, healthier and more inclusive lives.
