Excited South Australian students will watch their futures unfold today as thousands of university offers arrive in email inboxes across the state.
A total of 15,755 offers are being made today to students seeking higher education at one of the state’s prestigious universities.
Together with offers made at the end of 2020, 13,871 students received a place in their first preference course.
Medicine and health, humanities, social sciences and religious studies, education and teaching, business and economics, and law and legal studies were the most popular with 2020 school leavers.
The main round of university course offers today follows TAFE offers made on 8 January.
The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Commission (SATAC) has been delivering offers to students from August 2020. University course offers will continue to rollout after today’s main offer round.
“2020 was a year like no other and the effort our Year 12 students displayed was inspiring to us all,” Education Minister John Gardner said.
“Students at every South Australian school faced significant challenges, but our Year 12 students led by example and went above and beyond to complete their SACE, crossing the finish line strong in unprecedented circumstances.
“As students transition into their next phase of learning, I urge them to remain determined and continue reaching for goals.
“I’d like to congratulate our next generation of doctors, nurses, scientists, lawyers, journalists, engineers and more as they take the next step in achieving their dreams.
“To those who may not have gotten their first university preference, don’t lose heart. Build on your efforts and resilience from 2020 and you’ll go far.”
