Upcoming community engagement in Crescent Head

Crescent Head residents will have the opportunity to have a say and discover more about a range of Council projects at upcoming workshops.

Council’s ongoing Community Catch-up series comes to Crescent Head on Wednesday 25 September, incorporating an information session from 4pm-5pm at the Crescent Head Public School Hall ahead of the structured workshop.

This session will consist of information stalls about projects in the Crescent Head area including:

  • Your Future – Places and Space – Community Strategic Infrastructure Plan
  • Your Future – Growth and Character – Local Strategic Planning Statement
  • Crescent Head Masterplan projects

The workshop section of the Catch-up will then take place between 5pm to 7pm in the Public School Hall. The catch-up will be a structured workshop involving both Councillors and senior Council staff.

Participants will work alongside Councillors in table groups to provide feedback and ideas on the importance of community infrastructure, development of Local Strategic Planning Statements and an overview of projects in the Crescent Head Masterplan.

The following week, on 3 October, Council will hold a Design Strategies Workshop as part of the Crescent Head Masterplan.

The three projects in this year’s masterplan are:

  • The Traffic Management and Parking Plan,
  • Foreshore Recreation and Landscape plan, and
  • The Town Centre Urban Landscape Plan.

Council is looking for a small group of volunteers from the Crescent Head community to participate in a day long activity. The group will work with a professional design team of landscape architect Dan Plummer and artist Belinda Smith to come up with an innovative, community-driven design approach.

Council is looking for representatives from a broad range of ages, gender, community groups, business and recreational interests to allow a good variety of views to be put forward. Given the nature of the activity, places will be limited.

Broader community engagement will then take place using the design concepts generated at the workshop.
