Detectives from the Sunshine Coast continue to appeal for members of the public to come forward with information as they investigate the death of an 87-year-old man on a beachfront path at Noosa Heads yesterday, (June 18).
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen a man who was naked, or in various stages of undress, anywhere near the northern end of Hastings Street or walking into the Noosa Woods pathways between 5am and 7am yesterday, to contact them.
A 27-year-old Gympie man remains in police custody and has been charged with the serious assault of a 69-year-old man on Hastings Street around the same time.
It is believed the second assaulted man was not known to the 87-year-old.
The 27-year-old will face the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning.
Investigations are continuing.
