Police have charged four teenagers with ten offences after a 42-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted outside a shopping centre in Thuringowa Central on Monday night, August 19.
It will be alleged at approximately 10pm, the woman was approached by the group who demanded her keys before striking her in the head with a tool, causing her to fall to the ground.
The teenagers allegedly stole the woman’s vehicle, a Holden Colorado utility, which was intercepted by police in Annandale on Tuesday morning, August 20.
Six teenagers were taken into police custody nearby a short time later.
A 16-year-old Townsville boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and driving without a licence.
A 13-year-old Townsville girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of motor vehicle.
A 12-year-old Townsville girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of motor vehicle.
An 11-year-old Townsville boy has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and attempted enter dwelling with intent, and two counts of breach of bail.
All have been denied bail and are due to appear at Townsville Childrens Court today, Wednesday, August 21.
A 13-year-old Townsville boy and a 14-year-old Townsville girl are continuing to assist police with their investigations.
The 42-year-old Kirwan woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.
