The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 52) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 51) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 3.51pm on Friday 17 September 2021.
Changes have been made to the Essential Traveller categories: Specialist workers in essential sectors and Remote or isolated workers:
- Specialist workers in essential sectors and remote or isolated workers will be placed at Level 6 (prohibited from entering South Australia) if arriving from one of the restricted zones: NSW, Victoria, ACT.
- These Essential Travellers can apply to SA Health for an exemption if they need to travel to South Australia.
Note: Existing Cross Border Travel Registration approvals for will be maintained for Specialist workers in essential sectors and Remote or isolated workers.
The Emergency Management (Supervised Quarantine No 10) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Supervised Quarantine No 11) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 3.40pm on Friday 17 September 2021.
Changes include:
- It allows for the Chief Public Health Officer to approve in writing, a quarantine facility;
- Once prescribed, a quarantine facility must comply with the requirements of the Direction. (e.g. COVID-19 testing and vaccination requirements, regulation of persons undertaking quarantine, and the operation of the facilities); and
- Emergency services workers who enter a declared red zone for the purpose of attending to an emergency will not be in breach of the Direction if they have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
- A person undertaking supervised at quarantine facility must have a day 9 COVID-19 test in addition to day 1, 5, 13 and 17.
Emergency services worker includes fire fighters, paramedics, ambulance officers, medical retrieval personnel, police officers and State Emergency Service officers
Other existing requirements remain.
