Updated Cross Border Travel Associated Direction No 63, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 62) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 63) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 4.16pm on Tuesday, 9 November 2021.

Key changes include:

Northern Territory

For Commercial Transport and Freight Workers who have not received a full course of COVID-19 vaccinations, the following applies to enter South Australia:

  • Must produce evidence of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 7 days before arrival, or be tested within 12 hours of arrival.
  • Commercial Transport and Freight Workers who comply with the 7 day testing regime will not be required to quarantine.
  • Commercial Transport and Freight Workers who do not produce evidence of a negative test within 7 days prior to arrival will be directed to submit to a COVID-19 test within 12 hours of arrival. These workers must self-quarantine when not conducting Commercial Transport and Freight Workers duties until receipt of a negative COVID-19 test result.
  • Must not enter or remain in a high risk setting for 14 days after arrival (unless permitted to enter in accordance with clause 9 Cross Border Travel – General COVID-19 Direction 2021).
  • Must not attend any event with an approved COVID Management Plan or at which more than 1000 people are present for 14 days after arrival. If you have a medical exemption certificate for not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and can produce it to an authorised officer on request you will be treated as a vaccinated traveller.
