UUMV charges at Brassall, QLD

Ipswich Detectives have charged two juveniles in relation to a stolen car involved in a single-vehicle crash at Brassall yesterday (August 14).

Police will allege that the two boys, aged 14 and 15, stole the grey Mazda CX-5 station wagon after breaking into a Redbank Plains residence on the night of August 13.

The boys were located and taken into custody several hours after the stolen vehicle crashed into a pole at the intersection of Hunter and Haig Street, Brassall, just after 8am.

The 14-year-old boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with two counts of receiving tainted property, and one count each of stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Both offenders have been refused police bail and will appear in Ipswich Childrens Court later this month.

Investigators believe a third juvenile remains outstanding and are appealing to the public for information that may assist.

Anyone who may have seen or have CCTV/dashcam vision of the grey Mazda around the Ipswich area on the night of August 13 is asked to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
