On behalf of the Tasmanian Government, I extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Peter Cundall, who passed away yesterday.
Peter was a much-loved and recognisable figure in Tasmania having lived and worked in Launceston for many years, including on ABC radio and as the long-time host of Gardening Australia.
On a personal note, Peter and I had many conversations over the years on a range of topics and while we didn’t always agree, he always had my respect for his immense passion and courage to stand up for what he believed in.
His contribution to Tasmania and our way of life cannot be understated, and I know his passing will be mourned by many in the community.
