WA award and minimum rates of pay to increase from 1 July 2026

The Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission has increased the State Minimum Wage and pay rates in WA awards effective from the beginning of the first pay period that starts on or after 1 July 2026.

The State Minimum Wage for employees 21 and over will increase by 4.75% to $998.30 per week. Minimum wages for younger workers and award free trainees and apprentices will also increase.

All rates of pay in WA awards will also increase by 4.75%.

The new minimum rates are now available and updated WA award summaries will be available on the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) website by 1 July 2026.

This pay rate increase only applies to employers and employees in the state industrial relations system. It covers businesses and organisations which operate as:

  • sole traders
  • unincorporated partnerships
  • unincorporated trust arrangements
  • incorporated associations that are not trading or financial corporations and other not-for-profit organisations that are not trading or financial corporations
