WA-JACET Arrest 10 December

This is a joint media release between Western Australia Police Force and Australian Federal Police.
A 36-year-old NSW man (who was working in Leinster) is due to appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today (10 December) on three offences relating to child exploitation material allegedly found on his electronic devices.
The Western Australian Joint Anti Exploitation Team charged the man on 26 November after investigating information received from the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).
The ACCCE report alleged a person suspected to be in Western Australia was distributing child exploitation material.
Investigators from WA-JACET, which comprises WA Police and Australian Federal Police, executed a search warrant at the man’s residential address. Officers seized numerous electronic devices which were examined and allegedly found child abuse/exploitation material.
The man was arrested and charged with:-
• 2 x Distribute Child Exploitation Material; and
• 1 x Possess Child Exploitation Material.
He first appeared in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on 27 November 2020.
The investigation continued and the man was later charged with an additional:
• 9 x Distribute Child Exploitation Material; and
• 1 x Possess Child Exploitation Material.
He next appears in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today, 10 December 2020.
The potential maximum penalty for these offences respectively is 10 and 7 years imprisonment.
