WA Roadmap Implementation Fund

Dept of Agriculture

The Australian Government announced the $5 million WA Roadmap Implementation Fund, as part of the $139.8 million transition assistance package, to implement priority actions arising from the WA Roadmap to 2028.

The WA Roadmap to 2028 (the Roadmap), published on The Future Flock website, provides a clear pathway to support the Western Australian sheep industry to strengthen and grow ahead of the phase out of live sheep exports by sea by 1 May 2028.

The Roadmap is an industry led, government enabled WA medium-long term sheep industry strategy – that responds directly to supply chain stakeholder calls for a credible plan to inform industry investment and decision making.

WA Roadmap Implementation Fund: Farm System Productivity Program

The first program to be delivered through the WA Roadmap Implementation Fund is the Farm System Productivity Program. This is a $2.5 million, open competitive grant program available to not-for-profit and commercial organisations. The program will enable a broad range of project ideas that align with the WA Roadmap to 2028 and deliver benefits across the broader WA sheep industry that improve productivity, profitability and industry collaboration.

Grants ranging from $50,000 to $750,000 are available, with no co-contribution required.

Applications open on 22 July 2026 and close on 3 September 2026.
