WA Health is reporting one new case of COVID-19 overnight.
The man, in his 60s, is a returned traveller from overseas, who remains in hotel quarantine.
The State’s total is now 1092. To date, 1078 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
WA Health is monitoring five active COVID-19 cases in hotel quarantine, including the case reported overnight.
Testing clinics Yesterday, 754 people were swabbed at State-run clinics*. A list of all testing clinics is available on the HealthyWA website.
COVID-19 vaccinations
Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination bookings for Western Australians aged 60 years and above are now available (external site). People in this age group can visit rollup.wa.gov.au (external site) to register and book an appointment at a State-run COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
Western Australian children aged 12 to 15 years are now eligible for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination (external site). Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit rollup.wa.gov.au (external site) to register and book appointments for their children in this age group.
On Sunday (19 September) an Aboriginal Family Day will be held at the Kwinana Vaccination Clinic in Kwinana Supa Centre on Meares Road. All Aboriginal people aged 12 years and above will be able to walk in and get a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination without a booking from 9am to 3.30pm.
Pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Pilbara communities (external site) open this week:
- The Tom Price Community Vaccination Clinic will run from 9am to 6pm, 17 to 21 September, at the Tom Price Community Centre, Central Road.
- The Paraburdoo Community Vaccination Clinic will open 9am to 6pm, 23 September, at Ashburton Hall, Ashburton Avenue.
A COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Midland (external site) is also open 8.30am to 4.30pm seven days at Centrepoint Shopping Centre on Great Eastern Highway. The centre has four-hour free parking, is close to Midland Train Station and has replaced the Redcliffe clinic.

Donations to Afghan evacuees
There are strict COVID safety restrictions at WA hotel quarantine facilities and it is important people do not visit these locations, especially during quarantine periods. In line with all other Australian jurisdictions, travel from New Zealand is now treated as travel from an international location (external site).
Australian states
- New South Wales is in the extreme risk (external site) category. This means travel from NSW to WA is not permitted, except under strict conditions.
- Victoria is in the high-risk (external site) category. Anyone entering from Victoria, or who has travelled through Victoria, in the past 14 days is subject to strict conditions
- The Australian Capital Territory is in the medium risk (external site) category. Approved travellers aged 12 years and older must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test in the 72 hours before departure.
- Queensland is in the low risk category (external site)
- South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory are considered very low risk (external site).
Variants
To date, 157 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – including 53 Alpha strain, 15 Beta strain, one Gamma strain and 88 Delta strain.
