A 31-year-old man is due to face Perth Magistrates Court today (12 July 2019) after being charged with child exploitation offences originally detected by authorities in Canada and the United States.
In June 2019, the Western Australia JACET – which comprises of officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Western Australia Police – received a referral from the Canadian National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC). The referral identified a social media user who had uploaded child exploitation material online.
