Experience the vast, exciting world of the Stonnington Libraries this spring.
Start off the new season by visiting the libraries to connect, create, learn or play.
There’s bucketloads of activities for children and wonderful workshops for everyone at every age and stage.
Enjoy bookish conversations with other readers, dive into family history, play chess, take in a drawing and portraiture class or practise your conversational English.
You can build your digital literacy skills through our workshops on digital photography fundamentals, Microsoft Office tools, claiming Medicare and health insurance online, selling pre-loved household goods online and ChatGPT.
At the Roving Repairs Workshop, you’ll learn how to repair broken items and in our Mending Circle, pick up tips and tricks so you can mend those garments you love by giving them a second chance.
Don’t miss our special ‘In conversations’ series with chef Annie Smithers and writers Don Watson and Chris Hammer.
If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids while they’re on their school break, our spring school holiday program, from 23 September to 4 October, is serving up some holiday treats. Suitable for children aged 5 to 12, this much-loved program offers free and low-cost activities to keep the kids engaged, active and happy. With performances like mime and didgeridoo, a show on the science of sound, workshops on world dance and beat-making, plus crafty fun stuff, you and the kids will love the libraries in the holidays.
Spring is also the perfect time for planting and growing a beautiful garden with our Seed Libraries. You can borrow up to three packets of seeds each month to plant in your own garden, then harvest the seeds and return them to the library to share with others.
All you need to do is join up as a member at any of our libraries or join online via the library website first and then you’re ready to grow.
