Police Arrest Three At Gilles Plains

Three people were arrested at Gilles Plains after police responded to reports of people breaking into cars in the area overnight.

Just before 2am on Thursday 4 June, police were called to McKinlay Avenue, Gilles Plains by multiple reports of a group of people using torches to look into cars.

Police and Police Dog Bomber searched the area and spotted the suspects, who jumped over fences and hid in yards to avoid apprehension.

Patrols and PD Bomber combed through the surrounding streets and located all three suspects in Lewis Court, Gilles Plains.

It will be alleged that police recovered a purse, jewellery and sunglasses stolen from a vehicle. The items were returned to the owner.

A 16-year-old boy from Port Adelaide, a 21-year-old Parafield Gardens man and a 22-year-old Holden Hill man were all arrested and charged with illegal use and unlawfully on premises.

The older man was also charged with possess housebreaking implement and refuse name and address.

The trio were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 16 July and Adelaide Magistrates Court on 22 July.

Anyone else in the Gilles Plains area who wakes to find their vehicle has been broken into overnight should report it via the police assistance line on 131 444.
