White must answer serious questions

Nic Street,Liberal Member for Franklin

Labor leader Rebecca White must answer serious questions over her handling of a complaint against former President of the Tasmanian Labor party, Mr Ben McGregor.

What was Rebecca White’s involvement in what Mr McGregor has described as a ‘politically-motivated’ take-down? Ms White was the Labor leader at the time.

Who were the faceless men or women of the Labor party who leaked the complaint against Ben McGregor without consent of the complainant?

We know that Mr McGregor sent Rebecca White a legal concerns notice regarding comments she made about him, before she resigned, following her failure at last year’s election.

Will she apologise to him publicly now?

Does Ms White ever follow due process and properly investigate rumours before airing them publicly with no regard on the impact of the individuals involved?

Or is it her normal mode of operating to put her own political agenda first and to try and destroy other people’s reputations and careers?

The Labor Party continues to implode with its toxic environment, bitter division and utter chaos on full display for all to see.

There are big question marks over Rebecca White’s leadership and Ms White needs to clearly explain to the Tasmanian public what her role was in this very messy matter.
