Woman dies after crash – South Coast 3 April

A woman has died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the state’s South Coast last week.

About 9am on Tuesday (28 March 2023), emergency services were called to Moss Vale Road, Cambewarra – about 11km north west of Nowra – following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to South Coast Police District found a truck and an SUV had collided.

The female driver of the SUV and a 10-year-old girl were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before the woman was transported by helicopter to St George Hospital. About 5pm yesterday (Sunday 2 April 2023), police were notified that the woman had passed away.

The girl was airlifted to Randwick Children’s Hospital in stable condition, where she remains.

The male truck driver, believed to be in his 30s, was uninjured and taken for mandatory testing.

Officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
