Woman dies in hospital after being struck by car in Melbourne

A 44-year-old Richmond woman has died in hospital after she was struck by a car in Melbourne’s CBD on 26 May.

The female pedestrian was crossing Flinders Street, near the intersection of Highlander Lane, when she was hit by a vehicle shortly before 10am.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she sadly died on 9 July.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Caulfield man, at the scene and he has since been released pending further enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
