“It is well established that gender equality drives substantial growth via an economic “multiplier effect.

“I see the South Australian Government Women’s Leadership and Economic Security Strategy as a key contributor to our economic growth out of COVID. The yearly actionable plan ensures that everyone has a role to play in bridging the gender gap, benefiting all South Australians.”

“This Strategy recognises that there are more opportunities to close the gender pay gap by breaking barriers, recognising the incredible impact of women in the workforce, supporting women in their professions and providing further opportunity for women and girls in South Australia to drive their future in their way.

“Entrepreneurship in South Australia has never been more exciting. Women and girls in South Australia are using their proactivity, creativity, their professional skills, talents and determination to support the economy and build a future that they want to see.”

“The women’s leadership and economic security strategy is such an important document – it puts our current context and our vision of an equal future into accessible words and graphs. But this document means nothing if each individual does not consciously decide to implement these changing expectations and standards into their personal and professional decision making.

“The three components to this document: employment & entrepreneurship, leadership & recognition and financial well-being are three distinct spaces we can continue the fight towards gender equality.

“Bringing this document to life is not a charity task, this is a practical way to make our community safer, stronger and more fair. Everyone has a responsibility to acknowledge it and act upon it, but everyone will also reap the benefits.

“I am particularly excited about taking the information so carefully and consciously included in this document and communicating it in a way that all Australians understand, and no one can ignore.”

“All South Australian girls and women should live in a society where they have equal opportunities as men do.

“This strategy sets the stage as to where we are at now, and how we need to as a State work towards a cultural change for equality. As we have a long way to go.”
